Human-in-the-loop

Human-in-the-loop means a person stays involved at the points that matter. Safe, reversible, routine actions run automatically; the ones that carry real risk, like spending money or doing something that can't be undone, wait for a quick human sign-off. The goal is to escalate by exception rather than approve everything.

Done well, it is mostly invisible. Clean, in-bounds cases flow through untouched, and only the genuinely risky or unusual ones surface for a decision. It is how automation stays fast without becoming reckless.
