Audit log

An audit log writes down each meaningful action as it happens and never lets an entry be quietly changed or deleted. It answers 'what did this system actually do, and when?' long after the fact.

For automation it is essential trust infrastructure. When an automated action reaches a customer, the audit log is how you prove what happened, catch a mistake, and reconstruct the sequence that led to it.
